The Architecture discipline at Queen’s University Belfast, based in the School of Natural and Built Environment, has a very strong reputation for its teaching standards and growing research profile at both national and international levels.
The purpose of this full time, permanent, role will be to contribute to the advancement of architectural knowledge and practice through high-quality, REF-returnable research, excellence in teaching, and creative design-led inquiry. The role involves producing internationally recognised research outputs that demonstrate originality, significance, and rigour; securing research funding; and generating impact beyond academia through engagement with industry, policy, and communities.
The successful applicant joins a vibrant and growing research team within Architecture, with a clear focus on high quality peer reviewed journal outputs and UKRI and EU collaborative applications. They will deliver inspiring and inclusive teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, integrating research-led content and studio-based design pedagogy. They will supervise student research and design projects, contribute to curriculum development, and support the strategic goals of the School and University in relation to REF and civic engagement.
