The School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering (CCE) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Lecturer in Organic Chemistry. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to enhance our research capacity and deliver world-class education in organic chemistry (to include practical organic chemistry) at undergraduate, masters and PhD level.

The post holder will undertake a programme of high level research in organic chemistry which enhances and augments the research already undertaken within the School.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

• Honours degree in chemistry or physical sciences or related subject.
• Hold a PhD in organic chemistry or a related subject.
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent relevant research experience in any area of organic chemistry that complements the existing research within the School.
• Postdoctoral or industrial experience appropriate to the position of a lecturer.
• Recent relevant experience of teaching and assessing organic chemistry.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver a programme of high-quality research.
• Ability to prepare journal and conference papers and grant applications. Applicants should demonstrate the number and quality of publications commensurate with their career stage.

This post is fixed term  for 49 months, or available until 30 September 2028, whichever is sooner. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
